STEM Premier Drops in on Teen CEO Day

Last week, we hit the road to travel to Rock Hill, SC to exhibit at the STEM Development Foundation’s Teen CEO Day; a career exploration opportunity for more than 2,500 8th graders from the surrounding area.

Held at Winthrop University on May 17, Teen CEO Day focused on providing these young students an opportunity to develop the necessary skills to effectively compete in the modern U.S. economy - with an emphasis on STEM - and meet representatives from dozens of companies from the region.

It was fantastic getting to interact with hundreds of bright-eyed students who were anxious to learn as much as they could. We were able to introduce them to STEM Premier and how they can utilize our platform. Talk about perfect timing! As these students prepare to begin their high school career, this is the perfect time for them to create a free account to begin building their profile.

We also got a chance to take a break from our usual routine so we could talk shop with them about what it’s like to work for a software/technology company.

Amongst the other organizations at Teen CEO Day was Comporium, a Rock Hill-based enterprise and one of the nation’s largest telecommunications providers. Thriving even amid harsh competition in the industry, Comporium has been providing the region with communications technology since 1894!

Also on the scene were veterinary health company Nutramax as well as Continental Tire, one of South Carolina’s largest employers.

We wish good luck to all of the students who attended Teen CEO Day. You all have a bright future ahead of you!
